Is there a bad view at Disney’s Polynesian Resort? That’s the big question we’re addressing in our review of a Polynesian standard view studio. Prior to this year, we never stayed at the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) portion of the Polynesian Resort. Well, on our last two trips to Walt Disney World this changed. On both trips, we spent a portion of our vacation at the resort in a standard view studio. Was it worth it? Did we feel like we were missing out by choosing a standard view room? Let’s find out. Without another further adieu, here’s our review…
Katie Kelly, Vice President of Worldwide Safety Services has posted an update for guests on the official Disney Parks Blog which we are sharing in its entirety below.   Dear Guests, As we look towards reopening our parks and resorts around the world, your wellbeing – and the wellbeing of our cast members – is one of our top priorities. In March, we began the phased reopening of Shanghai Disney Resort, and on May 20, we took another step as guests returned to shop and dine at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort. Just as we’ve started making plans for our…

Boulder Ridge: A DVC Members Perspective

Written by
We have been DVC members since 2013. Our home resort is the Beach Club. When we were looking at the different resorts prior to purchasing, we had looked at Boulder Ridge but at that time decided against it even though we absolutely loved the theme. However, since our Beach Club purchase, we have spent more time at Boulder Ridge than our home resort. Our stays at Boulder Ridge began by chance. I worked with a fellow DVC member whose home resort was Boulder Ridge. During one of our yearly trips, my co-worker and her husband who were also in Disney…

Animal Kingdom Lodge: The DVC Experience.

Written by
Personal Background: Back in 2012, my family bought into DVC; we selected Animal Kingdom Lodge (AKL), sight unseen. At the time we were counseled to buy 220 points given our preferences, and we purchased direct. Since then, we have purchased two resale contracts (110 more at AKL, plus 100 at Bay Lake Tower) and another direct contract (Riviera).  We tend to travel in some combination of three adults (husband, wife, grandmother) and two children (now 17 and 13, but obviously much younger when we joined).  We have a total of 3 Use Years.  (As much as some people tell you…

DVC Member - Buying Into DVC Experience

Written by
Hi! My name is Jo-Anne and we have been DVC members since 2013. We took our daughter on her first Disney trip in 2009 when she was in kindergarten. We stayed onsite at one of the value resorts. Over the next three years, we continued our yearly Disney trips but started staying at the moderate resorts. During this time we started researching everything the Disney Vacation Club had to offer. In 2012 we decided to take the plunge. During our next trip,we spent time going around to the different DVC resorts to see where they were located and what they…
Hi, my name is Ace, I am a 59-year-old man and I am a DVC member. I bought Old Key West in November of 1991. They were still building the resort when we went to look at it. We had to wear hard hats when we walked outside because it was technically still a construction site. I think we paid $49 per point and the DVC membership came with park admission through 1999 (when you used your points). My wife and I were 30 years old at the time and not had children yet.     Since then, we have…
There’s more than one way to experience Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Building on our review of Boulder Ridge, we’re discussing the second Disney Vacation Club Resort (DVC) to come to the resort, the Copper Creek Villas & Cabins. Opening in the summer of 2017, the Copper Creek Villas & Cabins is the fifth DVC resort in the Magic Kingdom resort area. Strap on your hiking boots, we’re blazing a trail to find the creek for our DVC Duo review of Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.   The Theme   West we go! Themed after the Pacific Northwest, the Wilderness Lodge…
