Staying at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village: A Little Piece of Africa at Walt Disney World

If you’re looking for somewhere truly special to stay during your Walt Disney World holiday, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village is a resort that deserves a place on your shortlist. Offering a unique combination of African-inspired theming, incredible wildlife, beautiful surroundings and the magic of Disney, this resort feels like a destination in its own right.

A Resort Like No Other
From the moment you walk into Kidani Village, you feel as though you've stepped into another world. Inspired by traditional African architecture, the resort features beautiful details, warm colours, African artwork and stunning views across the surrounding savanna.
One of the biggest highlights is the opportunity to see real African animals roaming freely across the savanna. Depending on where you're staying, you may spot giraffes, zebras, gazelles and other fascinating wildlife right from your balcony.
There really is something magical about enjoying your morning coffee while watching giraffes wander past. It's an experience that makes this resort stand out from anywhere else at Walt Disney World.
The Rooms and Villas
Kidani Village is particularly appealing for families and larger groups thanks to its spacious accommodation options.
There are deluxe studios as well as one-, two- and three-bedroom villas. The larger villas offer separate bedrooms, living and dining areas, fully equipped kitchens and even a washer and dryer.
This makes them ideal for longer holidays when having a little extra space can make all the difference.
If you can stretch your budget, I would definitely recommend considering a savanna-view room. Although it can cost more, waking up to wildlife outside your window is something you won't forget in a hurry.
Dining at Kidani Village
Food lovers are in for a treat, with Sanaa being one of the biggest attractions at Kidani Village.
Sanaa offers African-inspired cuisine with Indian influences, and one of its most special features is the view across Sunset Savanna. You can enjoy your meal while watching the animals outside.
The famous bread service is a popular choice and well worth trying!
There are also additional dining options nearby at Jambo House, including Boma – Flavors of Africa and Jiko – The Cooking Place, giving you even more choice during your stay.
Pools and Activities
If you're planning some downtime away from the theme parks, Kidani Village has plenty to offer.
Samawati Springs Pool is a fantastic place to relax, featuring a 128-foot waterslide, whirlpool spas and a zero-depth entry area. Younger guests will love Uwanja Camp, an interactive water playground filled with water features and activities.
There are also campfire activities, outdoor movies, recreational facilities and opportunities to learn more about the animals living on the savanna.
It's easy to spend a whole day enjoying the resort without feeling the need to visit a theme park.
Getting Around Walt Disney World
Kidani Village offers complimentary Disney bus transportation to the theme parks and other areas of Walt Disney World.
Although it isn't the closest resort to the parks, the transport options make getting around relatively straightforward. It's worth allowing a little extra time when planning your journeys.
You can also visit Jambo House, the neighbouring Animal Kingdom Lodge building, to explore its restaurants, shops and impressive lobby.
Is Kidani Village Worth Staying At?
For me, one of the biggest attractions of Kidani Village is that it offers something completely different from the usual Disney hotel experience.
It's peaceful, beautifully themed and full of little details that make your holiday feel extra special. Whether you're travelling as a family, a couple or with friends, there's plenty to enjoy.
If you're looking for a Disney resort where the magic continues even after you've left the theme parks, Kidani Village is definitely worth considering.
And honestly, how many hotels can say you might see a giraffe while enjoying breakfast on your balcony?
Kidani Village is more than just somewhere to sleep during your Disney holiday – it's an experience in itself!
