The Disney Skyliner: A Vacation Highlight

If you are staying at Disney’s Riviera Resort, the Skyliner is definitely one of the transportation options you will want to experience. The station is conveniently located at the resort, making it incredibly easy to hop aboard and start your day.

The Skyliner provides transportation to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, with convenient connections along the way. The gondolas offer a relaxing view as you glide above the resort areas and waterways. There is something especially enjoyable about starting a park day by simply stepping onto the Skyliner and enjoying the ride.

It is also a great option at the end of a long park day. Instead of sitting in traffic, you can sit back, enjoy the breeze and take in the views as you make your way back to Riviera.

Getting to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom

While the Skyliner is perfect for EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, Disney buses are the primary transportation option for Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom from Riviera Resort.

The buses run regularly throughout the day, making it simple to get where you need to go without having to drive or worry about parking. For a Magic Kingdom day, the bus drops you at the park entrance area, where you can head straight into the park and begin your day.

For Animal Kingdom, the bus is also a convenient choice, particularly if you are planning to arrive early for a full day of exploring the park.

As with any Disney transportation, it is worth allowing yourself plenty of time when traveling. Your actual journey includes waiting for transportation, traveling to the park and walking from the transportation area to the entrance.

Transportation Can Be Part of the Experience

One of the things I love about staying at a Disney resort is that transportation doesn't have to feel like a chore. At Riviera, the Skyliner in particular becomes part of the Disney experience.

There is something magical about leaving the resort, seeing the Disney landscape from above and arriving at EPCOT or Hollywood Studios without ever getting into a car. After spending hours walking around a park, having someone else handle the driving can also make a big difference.

Another benefit is flexibility. You can head back to Riviera for an afternoon break, a swim or some downtime and then return to the parks later without worrying about moving your car.

Is Disney’s Riviera Resort Worth It?

For guests who plan to visit EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, the location and Skyliner access are major advantages. The resort itself offers a beautiful, upscale atmosphere, while the transportation options make getting around Walt Disney World surprisingly easy.

Whether you are heading to EPCOT for dinner, Hollywood Studios for an evening of attractions, or catching a bus to Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom, staying at Riviera gives you plenty of convenient ways to explore.

For me, one of the best parts of a Disney vacation is not having to worry about the logistics. At Disney’s Riviera Resort, the transportation options make it easy to leave the driving behind and focus on enjoying the magic.
